Alex Garcia, the star of an overcoming story, the first deafblind person to have a university degree in Brazil and the pioneer on the promotion of the visibility of deafblind persons, accepted the invitation of the Municipal Board of Health to talk about accessibility and mobility of persons with disabilities in the municipal health system at the I Municipal Conference for the attention to the health of persons with disabilities in São José do Rio Preto/SP.

Executive Secretary of CMS São José do Rio Preto, has a degree in Technology Management at UNIP, highlights: "We were very motivated with Alex Garcia's vibrant lecture for an audience of 140 people, (persons with physical, visual, hearing disabilities, health professionals, health councilors, health managers and persons from education). Having about 50 persons with some kind of disability effectively participating of the construction of proposals that are directed to improve the quality and access to health services in our town was an unique experience. The participants enchantment with Alex Garcia's lecture inspires leadership, social participation of persons with disabilities in the supervision and development of health policies."
